Africa Express are back on the road this summer with a run of live shows across Europe which will see the music collective return to the main stage of Roskilde Festival in Denmark; as well as Müpa in Budapest; the ancient amphitheatre of Ostia Antica in Rome; the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and Barcelona’s Cruïlla Festival. The tour marks the release of their brand new studio album titled ‘Africa Express presents… Bahidorá’, recorded at the festival of the same name in Mexico. It will be released on 11 July 2025 via World Circuit Records (BMG). Pre-order HERE.
The shows will see Africa Express co-founder Damon Albarn joined on stage by 50 artists from across four continents – from Moonchild Sanelly to Django Django, Luisa Almaguer to Jupiter & Okwess – for an unmissable performance of new music from their forthcoming album ‘Africa Express presents… Bahidorá’. Each Africa Express live show is unique, filled with spontaneous moments of magic and collaboration that never loses its capacity to surprise. The Africa Express presents … Bahidorá live show will be a cumbia-kuduro-salsa-hiphop-soul-pop fiesta. Do not miss it! Tickets and more information HERE.
“It’ll be my first time in Europe and my first time touring, and I honestly can’t think of a better way to do it than with Africa Express. What a dream, what a privilege. I didn’t even finish high school, but this feels like graduating from university—only better” – Luisa Almaguer
“Making collaborative music is one of the best ways to experience how the world can get along. If anything is more important right now I can’t think of it” Joan As Police Woman
“I’m very proud to have started my career in Europe 15 years ago with Africa Express, and to continue collaborating through this new experience with Mexican artists. Coming back with all these encounters in Europe is wonderful. We keep proving that the cultural diversity of Africa, Europe, and the Americas unites us in a world that is far too divided!” – Jupiter & Okwess
I’m always happy to be part of this wonderful wild circus, this amazing culture clash of sounds and feelings and beauty. I’m so happy to be hitting the road this summer – Seye Adelekan
